In 1192, Minamotono Yoritomo established the military government (shogunate) at Kamakura based upon the formal recognition from the Imperial Court of Kyoto. During Kamamura period (1192-1333), the military regimes of samurai warrior were established. Kamakura socieity exalted loyalty, honor, and frugality to inspipre bushido (the Way of the Warrior).
