Kamakura is a place fortified by nature; the mountains on three sides and the sea on the fourth side. In 1192, Minamotono Yoritomo established the military government (shogunate) at Kamakura based upon the formal recognition from the Imperial Court of Kyoto. During Kamamura period (1192-1333), the military regimes of samurai warrior were established. Kamakura socieity exalted loyalty, honor, and frugality to inspipre bushido (the Way of the Warrior). Many Zen temples were built expecting peaceful mind and enlightenment. I will guide you several key spots such as Zen temple (Enkakuji), Kenchoji, Meigetsuin, Kotokuin (the Great Buddha) and Tsuruoka Hachimangu with comment on historical background.
If customers want to be picked up at a hotel in Tokyo or Yokohama, I will go there. The cost and time will be decided based upon the dicussion with customers.
